Mobile App Testing

UsabilityOne have been busy over the past few months testing a range of smart phone apps and working closely with developers to optimise the user experience across a range of platforms. This is an exciting time to be developing and working on new technologies and usability testing is an important part of the design process regardless of the platform or device.

Social Media Usability Tesing

Recently UsabilityOne performed several rounds of usability testing on a new social media tool currently in development. In addition to the general user experience, we gained some interesting insights into what customers and businesses want from social media interactions, and how tools can be better customised to meet user's needs. We look forward to working on similar projects in the future and using the knowledge we have gained over the past few months.

Debating the Fundamentals: The Geographic, Temporal and Political Nature of Usability Heuristics
When it comes to web design, usability heuristics are often hailed as irrefutable truth. They serve as an effective tool for teaching people about interactive design and in isolation each heuristic presents an obvious path towards creating an optimal design. Interestingl, usability heuristics are often in direct opposition to each other and achieving all simultaneously is almost impossible. This article explains some of the debates of usability heuristics, and what should be kept in mind, when looking at heuristics as a whole
