How to identify your users
While there are plenty of research methods on the market to obtain user needs, the fundamental question that often baffles our clients is, "How do we actually identify our users?" In many cases, clients are sitting on a wealth of information which will help to answer this question, and often it only becomes a matter of looking at the right sources. Read full article

What we've been doing?
Changes to Client Relations
David Lilley is the new Client Relationship Manager at UsabilityOne. Although his name may be new to you, he has actually been working behind the scenes at UsabilityOne for the last 6 or 7 years in an HR capacity. He is now returning to the roots of the early part of his career in a client facing position. Although he is not a 'Usability practitioner', he does have extensive experience in research and has managed to pick up some of the jargon through his previous role.

David's role is to touch base with our clients to learn about their business, their web/online objectives, and what we can do to help them achieve these.

In his short time as Client Relationship Manager at UsabilityOne, he has noticed that many of our clients see us as merely Web Usability Researchers; which is true, but is only a fraction of what we do in the broader User Experience space. David's role is to help our clients understand when to integrate user research to better achieve business objectives. Feel free to give David a call and discuss your business needs on (03) 9684 3470.

Hear me out!!

While businesses strive to increase their online visibility, at the same time many can make it very difficult for customers to get in contact with them. This attitude not only means queries go unanswered, but customers can lose faith in the brand. If you have a product, services or corporate website, there are a few things to watch out to ensure your communication channels are optimised and customers can easily make quality contact.

Pairing Up Usability Testing with A/B Testing

Usability professionals often face the challenge of showing the value of usability testing through quantifiable results. For clients, the real question is often 'how do I know the usability testing will help me meet my business goals'? A way to provide a client with quantifiable data is to combine usability testing with A/B Testing. This combination can often make these two methods of user research more effective than either on its own, and ensures client's data and business information requirements are met.
